Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>DODOMA region has prepared 10,000 tree seedlings for planting in various parts of the region, including Mtumba government city, to make the city green.<\/p>\n

Dodoma Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Anthony Mtaka, said recently that the trees will be planted in this rainy season.<\/p>\n

“We are going on with this campaign, our target is to make Dodoma a green city, and that is possible if everyone will be responsible,” Mr Mtaka said, adding that Dodoma urban residents are required to prepare for planting the trees.<\/p>\n

“When our colleagues in the rural areas start preparing their farms for the agriculture season, the urban dwellers should prepare for the tree planting campaign for the better future of this capital city,” he elaborated.<\/p>\n

The RC said that the houses construction of many people are in phases, so as they continues to build houses the trees continue to grow and once they complete the construction the trees for fruit and shade they had planted earlier will have grown.<\/p>\n

In ensuring the campaign reaches the entire city, RC Mtaka has instructed various institutions that build or provide various services to plant trees in their compounds.<\/p>\n

However, Mr Mtaka said the tree planting campaign should be encouraged by leaders in all councils and districts in the region to ensure Dodoma becomes green.<\/p>\n
