Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>TANZANIA eyes to use the opportunity of the Third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit to build mutually beneficial partnerships in key three sectors of agriculture, works and transport.<\/p>\n

The 3rd Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit takes place for two days starting today in Istanbul Congress Centre under the auspices of the Presidency of the Turkish Republic.<\/p>\n

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, will present Tanzania\u2019s agenda on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.<\/p>\n

Amb Mulamula said apart from economic partnerships, Tanzania will also explore education opportunities abroad for Tanzanians.<\/p>\n

The two-day summit comes fast on the heels of a top-level business forum in October focused on investment and trade. Leaders and top ministers from 39 countries, including 13 presidents, have confirmed attendance.<\/p>\n

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan is set to make a speech at the summit tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The summit, themed \u201cEnhanced Partnership for Development and Prosperity,\u201d commences with a meeting of high-level officials in the Turkish financial hub Istanbul.<\/p>\n

Statement issued on Thursday by the directorate of communication of the Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, said the meeting which was introduced in 2008, is aimed at, among others, following up on implementation of agreements and various decisions endorsed by Heads of State in the previous summits and put in place new strategies for partnership for the period between 2021-2026.<\/p>\n

They would also discuss how they would further cementrelations between African countries and Turkey, particularly in strengthening trade and investment.<\/p>\n

Other issues to be discussed are partnership in the health sector and defence and security.<\/p>\n

Amb Mulamula who leads the Tanzanian delegation is expected to address the summit tomorrow, during which she would present Tanzania\u2019s interests in the partnership.<\/p>\n

The Tanzanian delegation include Deputy Minister for Health, Community Develop- ment, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr Godwin Mollel, Tanzania\u2019s Ambassador to Turkey, Lt Gen Yacoub Hassan Mohamed, Tanzania\u2019s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Mr Innocent Shiyo.<\/p>\n

The summit, which is organized jointly by the AU and the Turkey Government, will discuss various documents for endorsement including the Africa-Turkey Partnership Joint Implementation Report of 2015- 2020); the Africa-Turkey Joint Action Plan of 2022 2026) and the Ankara Declaration of 2021.<\/p>\n

It is also expected that some agreements for partnership in education between African governments and Turkey would be signed.<\/p>\n
