Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>POLITICAL analysts have hailed President Samia Suluhu Hassan\u2019s speech at the opening of political stakeholders meeting on Wednesday as a gesture of strong will for forging political consensus.<\/p>\n

According to the analysts the speech opened up a new chapter in the country\u2019s politics and created room for great reconcilia- tion, dialogue and consensus.<\/p>\n

The political observers, hence, urged political party leaders to embrace the opportunity.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with the \u2018Daily News\u2019 on Thursday, University of Dodoma (UDOM) lecturer Dr Paul Loisulie, hailed President Samia for emphasizing on democratic dialogue and political consensus.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt offers great hope for po- litical parties, among other stakeholders, to come up with a good approach of carrying out their political activities and debates on how to bring development to the people and country,\u201d said Dr Loisulie.<\/p>\n

He revealed that a strong political will which has been demonstrated by the president shows her clear motive to unify the nation.<\/p>\n

In line with emphasis on reconciliation, dialogue and consensus, the Head of State also stressed upon the parties to refrain from divisive and confron- tational politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president\u2019s speech is a reflection of what is deep in her heart\u2026what comes out of the mouth is derived from the heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer desire to see the nation become one and through her strong political will, it\u2019s clear the doors for political consensus are open,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

A Lecturer at the University of Iringa, Dr Jimson Sanga, revealed that the President was the final decision maker of the country and her statements mean directives to her subordinates and other functioning organs.<\/p>\n

Dr Sanga said the president has opened the doors for people to hold peaceful dialogues, provided that they consider the greater interests of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president has opened the room for reconciliation; it means there is no room for peo- ple to throw stones at each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has made it clear that the government is also open for constructive criticism whenever it falls short of implementing the various policies and pledges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Dr Sanga pointed out that the government would be answerable in case the pledges which they had made have not been implemented.<\/p>\n

For his part, Assistant Lecturer at Mzumbe University, Jerum Kilumile, was of the view that President Samia\u2019s decision to officiate political stakeholders\u2019 meeting in Dodoma on Wednesday will help to build a good image of the country\u2019s political environment.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that some people were painting a picture that Tanzania\u2019s democratic space has been stained, noting that even the most democratic countries face their own challenges.<\/p>\n

According to Mr Kilumile, political parties should make full use of the opportunity granted by the President to peacefully build the political space of the country.<\/p>\n

Now that the President has clearly stated her position, Kilumile urged the country\u2019s politicians to use the recommended forums to present their views, stressing that party leaders should also refrain from not showing up in such similar platforms which aim to make amends.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president has demonstrated her personality of wanting to learn more, open for discussions, consideration for other people\u2019s views and ready to be challenged…through dialogue,\u201dnoted Kilumile<\/p>\n
