Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>YOUNG Africans consolidated their Premier League\u2019s pilot seat after their 2-1 away victory over Tanzania Prisons at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Sumbawanga yesterday.<\/p>\n

Now parading 23 points, the victory placed Yanga 5-point superior to their closest pursuers and traditional rivals, Simba, who remained glued to the second position with 18 points after their 9th round game against Kagera Sugar, was called off due to health insecurities.<\/p>\n

Yanga got goals from Feisal Salum in the 24th minute and Khalid Aucho in the 43rd minute, while Tanzania Prisons got their consolation goal from Samson Mbangula at the 12th minute of the game. It was Yanga\u2019s seventh Premier League victory from their nine-game outings.<\/p>\n

They have drawn twice; 1-1 with Namungo and a barren draw with their traditional rivals Simba. Tanzania Prisons shocked Yanga with a 12th-minute goal by Samson Mbangula with a header connecting a corner set-piece sculptured by Michael Ismail. It took Yanga eleven minutes to equalize through Feisal Salum, who completed a nice head assist from Khalid Aucho.<\/p>\n

Feisal struck the ball inside the penalt box and passed Tanzania Prisons goalkeeper Benedict Haule. Feisal had another opportunity to score in the 31st-minute, but his attempt went wide. Tanzania Prisons got their second corner of the match in 34th minutes, but Yanga\u2019s solid defense stood firm to clear the danger.<\/p>\n

Yanga doubled in the 43rd minute with a diving header from Aucho, who well connected the cross from Saido Ntibazonkiza. The first half was completed with Yanga leading 2-1. Ntibazonkiza, who was in good form, came close to scoring a third goal for Yanga in the 52nd minute, but his shot flew just wide a crossbar. Tanzania Prisons reacted by an attack in the 58th minute by Lambert Sabiyanka, but his attack went wide.<\/p>\n

The two sides showed quality from defense to attack, but the results remained 2-1 until the last whistle, apart from numerous attempts. Following the results, Tanzania Prisons are fixed at the thirteenth place with eight points from nine games played. They have won and drew twice while losing five games. The league will proceed today with Biashara United hosting Coastal Union at Karume Stadium in Mara.<\/p>\n

The encounter expects to be tight as both sides aim to grab points and elevate to a better position from their current. This season has been not good for Biashara United, after securing eight points in eight outings and thus placed twelfth. Biashara United have not been in their fine form as they have not tasted a win in five consecutive games.<\/p>\n

Since the race came to action this season, they have won once, drew five and lost twice. Their opponent Coastal Union are positioned at the mid of the table with eleven points, after registering two wins, five draws and losing once.<\/p>\n
