Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>PAKISTANI doctors have conducted a medical camp and revealed that diabetes, high blood pressure and hernia are among diseases that afflict many people in the country.<\/p>\n

During the camp hundreds of people turned up at Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam for free medical checkup and treatment. Identifying the diseases, a surgeon, Dr Asif Ali, said clinical and technical measures should be taken to determine the cause of the problems.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have found that here in Tanzania hernia, diabetes and high blood pressure are among the diseases that afflict many people; not only here but also in other African countries where we have provided such services,\u201d said Dr Ali, urging experts to conduct a thorough research to determine the causes of the diseases and provide a complete treatment and curb from contracting others.<\/p>\n

Ms Habiba Abdalah, one of the patients who went for checkup said the service was good and she has been able to get medicines for her health challenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have come here with my two children and my granddaughter; we received good services without delay, including screening … I did not expect to get such services and medicines to use for five months,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Another beneficiary, Ms Jumanne Bakari said he was happy with the service he received because he was given medication for free.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am grateful for these doctors … I have received good care and they also gave me enough medication. It brings a good image and some citizens have been able to access the services and everyone who received services and were satisfied. \u201cI have received enough medicine. I wish they continue to be in the country because their services are helpful especially for low-income people to manage health insurance. I have been given medicines to use for five months, something which could not be possible in other health facilities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

He said that it is the first time for her to receive free medical consultation and free medicine. She said that their hospitality was beyond limitation. Some patients have urged other nations to provide similar services to African countries as Pakistani doctors did.<\/p>\n

Pakistan High Commissioner, Mr Muhammad Saleem, said more than 2,300 people received various services including consultation with specialists on various diseases including pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, pathologists, medicine and counseling.<\/p>\n

Those specialist Doctors arrived with Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) ALAMGIR on 10th January which they used for two days for free medical care in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n
