Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>THE minister of state President\u2019s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ms Jenista Mhagama has vowed to address challenges facing members of civil service.<\/p>\n

She said the government, through her ministry, will continue working on the welfare of the civil servants so that, among other things, they keep delivering to the maximum expectations.<\/p>\n

Ms Mhagama was speaking on Thursday in Dodoma while handing over her former responsibilities in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Coordination, Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability) to the ministers who were appointed recently.<\/p>\n

The ministers are Dr Pindi Chana who has become the Minister of State in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs and Coordination) and Professor Joyce Ndalichako who was recently appointed to head the Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability docket.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m aware of the concerns of civil servants on the need for promotions and delayed issuance of timely services. I will do to the best of my ability to work on all the issues,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

She also thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the trust she put on her, and for maintaining her in the new cabinet that was announced last weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been working in this office for the past seven years, this wouldn\u2019t be possible without the strong trust by our Head of State,\u201d noted the minister, assuring that she will continue working hard to the best of her ability in her new docket.<\/p>\n

Moreover, she asked the officers and management team in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office to offer their maximum cooperation to the new ministers, Dr Chana and Prof Ndalichako.<\/p>\n

For her part, Dr Chana thanked President Samia for appointing her to the cabinet, assuring her of full-time cooperation on ensuring effective implementation of the development agenda.<\/p>\n

Prof Ndalichako asked staff to work as a team in pushing forward the development programmes for the bigger interest of the country by ensuring all challenges are addressed accordingly.<\/p>\n

In another development, the former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr Tixon Nzun- da also handed over the office to the new PSs Dr John Jingu and Prof Jamal Katundu.<\/p>\n

Mr Nzunda who has been shifted to the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development thanked his former team for the cooperation they offered during his tenure in the office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to assure the new permanent secretaries that this team here is superb; they work diligently and deliver on time, this is something great to brag on,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the event, Dr Jingu said he will be working closely with all staff in the office for effective delivery of the set targets.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank President Samia for considering my presence in this office, all I need is full co-operation from all members of the team, let\u2019s work as a team,\u201d he explained. For his part, Prof Katundu gave assurance of his commitment to tender cooperation to ensure the vision of President Samia on national development is realised.<\/p>\n
