Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>THE Police Force in Dar es Salaam region has vowed to continue using its intelligence to identify all criminal activities including incidents of scamming occurring in the city.<\/p>\n

Similarly, they have pledged to bring to book all individuals involved in conspiring to commit the various criminal offences. Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jumanne Muliro, spoke of the determination during a press conference held in Dar es Salaam, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Police have been carrying out various crackdowns against the people who are conspiring to commit crimes by ensuring they are arrested for necessary legal actions to take place,\u201d said ACP Muliro.<\/p>\n

He observed that the operation identified 91 suspected criminals involved in theft of vehicles, robberies and drug trafficking offences. Besides, the Police Commander hinted that imposters claiming to be government or security officials have been going round the City and various offices asking for money in exchange for some sort of favours.<\/p>\n

According to him, the suspected criminals have been arrested, noting that their kingpin has also been arrested and all necessary legal action will be taken against the person.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough the operation over 12 motorcycles involved in the robberies were confiscated…in the incidents and individuals who posed as passengers but turned out to be the criminals after boarding the motorcycles, directing the drivers to take them to unidentified places, will also face the wrath of the law\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The Commander also outlined other properties which have been confiscated as exhibits include items such as housewares, television sets and many other things. He warned all individuals who are engaging or planning to take part in any form of criminal activity to immediately refrain from such acts, noting that it was very dangerous to direct their minds in doing illegal activities such as crimes.<\/p>\n

He, however, called upon all Good Samaritans to continue tipping off the police on any suspicious acts which might jeopardise the safety of Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n
