{"id":46133,"date":"2022-01-26T16:48:10","date_gmt":"2022-01-26T16:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/?p=46133"},"modified":"2022-01-26T14:52:20","modified_gmt":"2022-01-26T14:52:20","slug":"tanzania-receives-additional-800000-sinopharm-vaccine-doses-from-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/tanzania-receives-additional-800000-sinopharm-vaccine-doses-from-china","title":{"rendered":"Tanzania receives additional 800,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses from China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Tanzania has received 800,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses donated by the Government of People&#8217;s Republic of China.<\/p>\n<p>The doses are enough to vaccinate a total of 400,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>This brings the total number of vaccines received in the country to 8.821million including Sinopharm, Janssen, Moderna and Pfizer that will vaccinate 5,082, 380 Tanzanians.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking shortly after receiving the consignment at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, Tanzania&#8217;s Minister for Health, Ummy Mwalimu expressed her appreciation to the Chinese government for the timely support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thank the government of China\u2026 in the first batch, we received a total of 500,000 doses that were used to vaccinate 250,000 people ,\u201d said Ms Ummy.<\/p>\n<p>As of 25th January, this year, Minister Ummy said, a total of 1,922,019 people (equivalent to 3.33 per cent of Tanzania\u2019s population) were already fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>She added that until January 23, 2022, a total of 33,000 people have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus and 781 people lost their lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\">Tanzania<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania.
