Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>TANZANIA may benefit by capitalizing on the cooperation with Pakistan and increasing its exports of goods that would ultimately boost the country\u2019s foreign exchange earnings.<\/p>\n

Pakistan High Commissioner to Tanzania, Ambassador Muhammad Saleem said that Tanzania, with vast arable land suitable for growing lentils, cotton, coffee, cloves and rich in diamond and gold, it could fetch good markets in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from markets for its products, Tanzania can benefit from the collaboration with Pakistan in terms of technology transfer necessary in spurring value chains. \u201cTanzania can increase export of cotton, tea, cashew nuts, lentils, oilseeds, spices as well as gold and diamond which have a market in my country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the favorable climate and peace are added advantages giving Tanzania a huge potential to Pakistani investors to grab various investment opportunities. He said in this business chain, Tanzania would gain by importing from Pakistan engineering and industrial goods, agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, surgical equipment, automotive, chemicals, construction products, cotton fabrics, electrical and electronic goods.<\/p>\n

According to Mr Saleem, Tanzania\u2019s Dar es Salaam port gives his country a gateway to the hinterlands and landlocked countries, to ease market access for their products.<\/p>\n

He said his embassy has been conducting conferences regularly on business opportunities with Tanzanians for markets available in both countries in recent years.<\/p>\n

Mr Saleem said the Pakistan government is doing everything possible to improve the business environment and asked Tanzanians to consider investing in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

By the end of the last year, many Tanzanian delegations had visited Pakistan to see the opportunities available and enhance business between the two countries. Tanzania was Pakistan\u2019s sixth top trade partner after South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and Egypt.<\/p>\n
