Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>KINONDONI Municipal Council is gearing up to turning Coco Beach into investment area with different attractions, while observing environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n

In line with this, the municipal council pledged to support Property International Ltd, a Dar es Salaam-based private firm dealing with town master planning, land and property development and advisory.<\/p>\n

The company has embarked on initiative to plant trees with aim of making the Coco Beach more attractive to visitors and have safe and clean environment.<\/p>\n

Speaking in the city on Monday during an exercise of planting trees at the area, Municipal Education Officer, Ms Theresia Kyara said Kinondoni Municipal Council was well prepared to ensure that Coco Beach area becomes more attractive, while considering environmental conservation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe (Municipal Council) are well prepared to make changes at the Coco Beach area, whereby investors have already showed up and started doing business. For anyone who had visited Coco Beach a long time ago they would be surprised if they visit the place today; the place is beautiful,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She noted that apart from tree planting campaign, the whole area is now featured with gardens and beautiful kiosks that attract people to go for resting.<\/p>\n

She said the objective was to ensure environment is protected as per the instructions by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who directed that Coco Beach should be an attraction area and get rid of dirty environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur president has directed and we (Kinondoni Municipality) have heeded to the directive and the beach is now beautiful. We can now confidently say that we have Coco Beach with good environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

On his part, Director of Property International Ltd, Mr Haleem Zahran, called upon land stakeholders, including the government and private companies, to ensure they allocate areas for trees when selling plots.<\/p>\n

He said his company’s decision to plant trees at Coco Beach was a continuation of its support to President Samia in addressing effects of climate change and protecting the environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur company, when selling plots, considers allocating areas for planting trees as well as ensure that the areas are planned,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Commenting, Wahono Yulianto, a representative of Ambassador of Indonesia to Tanzania, commended the tree planting initiative, arguing that it is good to continue seeing Tanzania green.<\/p>\n
