Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>THE ruling CCM party\u2019s Chairperson Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan has pledged major changes in her party and hinted on possible imminent reshuffle of top leaders in the executive to increase efficiency.<\/p>\n

President Samia was reelected as the chairperson of the ruling party during the 10th National Congress on Wednesday evening to offer her leadership for the next five years.<\/p>\n

Speaking when closing the two-day meeting in the country\u2019s capital yesterday, the CCM leader expressed optimism on the new leadership squared from the grassroots to the national level that it was the best group that would help her to efficiently implement the party\u2019s 2020-2025 manifesto.<\/p>\n

She tasked all elected leaders to shun a business-as-usual style, and instead go down and serve the people so as to clear all hurdles from the opposition ahead of the 2024 civic polls as well as the envisaged 2025 General Election.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s unite together and work for our people because united we will remain strong and disunity will result in weakness,\u201d she insisted.<\/p>\n

The president, however, underscored the need for reshuffle within her government saying: \u201cI am requesting for your blessings to reshuffle my government because I have noted with concern that some persons have failed to cope with the speed I want.\u201d<\/p>\n

She sounded a strong warning to all leaders, including district and regional commissioners who would fail to implement the party manifesto, insisting that should party leaders from their respective areas complain about their performance, she would not hesitate to sack them.<\/p>\n

The CCM Chairperson recalled that there were only two years remaining before going to civic elections and three years before the general election, therefore everyone within the party and the government should work around the clock to ensure that all pledges made in the manifesto are fully implemented.<\/p>\n

She insisted that unlike in other previous elections where party cadres were taking time to explain to electorates what the party had done for five years, this time around she wants people to speak for themselves because seeing was believing.<\/p>\n

The president further reminded all public servants in the country that they were equally duty bound to supporting and implementing the CCM manifesto because it was the only party that was now leading the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic servants should dance in the tune of the party and it\u2019s their obligation to implement the party manifesto and this is not an option but rather a directive,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The CCM Chairperson also chastised those who were bringing rifts within the party for their political interests, saying that there were some political cocoons who were trying to bring disunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no doubt with the loyal members who entered the party with passion and love, and I believe these cannot betray us, but there are those who joined the party for their own interests who are now bringing rifts,\u201d said Dr Samia adding: \u201cWe need to put up proper plans for the winning team in the next elections because failing to plan is automatically planning to fail.\u201d<\/p>\n
