The ‘Salima’ song that is more noticeable in online entries is attached with Diamond Platnumz, the fictitious name of Naseeb Abdul, who creates a virtual diamond out of everything he touches in music.<\/p>\n

That must also have been true of the more recent number whose factual write-ups show it came out in early 2022, similar to the other ‘Salima’, coming a few months later.<\/p>\n

It is this latter one which caught the interest of at least a few people, those who \u2018studied in Cuba,\u2019 noticing hidden intentions, or rather the song as a sort of unfolding of feelings about some issues.<\/p>\n

Those listening to the lyrics will fail to get the connection of ‘Salima’ to Seya, the flagship composition of the singer and his father \u2019Babu Seya\u2019, where the name appears to be that of a daughter of the son, that is \u2018Papii Kocha.\u2019<\/p>\n

Everything in the way the group works is tailored around their identities and other stories arising out of life experiences, and they seem to have fairly vivid instances of experience. Some pundits boil this to one instance.<\/p>\n

At the risk of simplification, some of us choose to belong to this number, that group which incessantly focuses on its inner experiences are not telling several stories of such attachments but one such story.<\/p>\n

It would thus have to be life-defining for it to be coming up time and again, across a span of close to 20 years, as the defining song, Seya, was a composition of the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

It would thus need to be shown that Salima and Seya could be one person, for the trick to come unstuck, making the latest song a turn of reflection on the defining theme.<\/p>\n

Not many listeners would be familiar enough with coastal usage to see how the two are linked.<\/p>\n

Salima is a different pronunciation for Salma, and that can also be pronounced as Seyma in Zanzibar in which case it gives birth to Seya as a short form of Seyma, and thus the possibility the two are linked. It\u2019s Iliad, tied to Seya.<\/p>\n

Chances that the two composers, as what the son is doing and what the father is doing can scarcely be differentiated in this case, might have parallel experiences in that regard is one possibility, though a bit narrow.<\/p>\n

It is a situation where one of them meets a woman that the group named Seya when the junior musician was a bit young and thus the main personage could have been the senior composer.<\/p>\n

Twenty years later, chances of a reversal of roles are much higher, in which case the now matured \u2018Papii Kocha\u2019 would be narrating a story revolving around a personage with a similar name as that of the earlier woman. But why should it be a double?<\/p>\n

It can be so fortuitously, as they say, \u2018birds of a feather fly together,\u2019 so a Seya brings about a life experience perhaps for the senior composer, and then namesake, who for reasons of illustration would be 20 years younger, impacts the younger composer.<\/p>\n

The tone of the two songs are different, the earlier song showing an existential fortitude in some tricky or even worrisome sentimental attachment, where those sounding warnings are dismissed as naysayers.<\/p>\n

The lesson was a familiar one, one life and dies for the one he loves, come rain come shine.<\/p>\n

Whether or not there was \u2018rain\u2019 along the way, even a nightmarish flood, is one thing but what is evident is that the theme is yet to move out of the composers\u2019 minds, even if this time the senior composer is virtually out of sight in the song.<\/p>\n

And it is also possible that outside recollections of what happened at that time, it is not the time for brazen sentimental heroics, and the younger composer, in turn, appears to be far wiser on the matter.<\/p>\n

It is as if he is in no mood to be a hero, talks about having declined an approach or continuing it, and is seeing the results.<\/p>\n

The note of regret will leave listeners perplexed about what is involved or rather is at stake, whether the singer reflects on a deserted sentimental environment where there is none as illustrious as Salima to give and receive sentimental appreciation.<\/p>\n

Few shall wish to believe that it is a situation of dependency where Salima would be a provider, but in that case, the idea of leaving her \u2013 except for a similar provider \u2013 wouldn\u2019t arise.<\/p>\n

As this aspect is wholly unexplored, it shall remain a dark secret.<\/p>\n
