{"id":8129,"date":"2020-05-04T21:31:33","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T21:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/tanzania\/?p=8129"},"modified":"2020-05-04T21:31:33","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T21:31:33","slug":"hunt-for-witchdoctors-claiming-to-cure-covid-19-ccm-urges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/community\/hunt-for-witchdoctors-claiming-to-cure-covid-19-ccm-urges","title":{"rendered":"HUNT FOR WITCHDOCTORS CLAIMING TO CURE COVID-19, CCM URGES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> THE CCM Parents\u2019 Wing in Dodoma Region has appealed to the government to hunt for witchdoctors claiming to cure people infected with the novel coronavirus disease (Covid- 19).<\/p>\n<p>Dodoma Regional Chairman of the CCM Parents Wing, Dr Damas Mkasa, made the appeal recently, saying there were unscrupulous people claiming to have herbs that cured Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only solution to the pandemic is to abide by preventive measures announced by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Elderly and Children and if one feels sick should go to hospital and not to witchdoctors,\u201d said the Dodoma Regional CCM Parents\u2019 Wing Chairman.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mkassa directed the witchdoctors to stop misleading people over fake herbs because they won\u2019t cure those infected with the deadly disease.<\/p>\n<p>However, he urged members of the public to differentiate between the pandemic and customs because diagnostic equipment is available in hospitals. \u201cWe should observe health measures to stop the transmission of the disease,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mkasa urged the government to take legal action against witchdoctors who were misleading members of the public that they could cure Covid-19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE CCM Parents\u2019 Wing in Dodoma Region has appealed to the government to hunt for witchdoctors claiming to cure people infected with the novel coronavirus disease (Covid- 19).
