Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Boeing said it plans to increase the production of its 737 model to 38 planes per month, up from 31, according to its financial results statement released on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The US-based multinational corporation, which designs, manufactures and sells airplanes, said its commercial airplanes revenue rose to $6.7 billion in the first quarter of this year, driven by higher 737 and 787 deliveries.<\/p>\n

The figure is an annual increase of 60% from approximately $4.2 billion recorded in the first quarter of last year.<\/p>\n

The Virginia-headquartered firm saw a total revenue of $17.9 billion in the January-March period of this year, which was up 28% from almost $14 billion in the same period of 2022.<\/p>\n

The company, however, recorded a net loss of $425 million in the first three months of this year, while it had a net loss of $1.2 billion in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

An American Airlines Boeing 737’s engine burst into flames on Sunday due to a bird strike, before its pilot safely managed an emergency landing at an airport in Columbus, Ohio in the US.<\/p>\n
