Cet \u00e9tudiant en \u00e9conomie se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 assister \u00e0 \u00ab une affiche choc digne d\u2019une finale \u00bb : au stade Roumd\u00e9-Adjia de Garoua (nord), les Pharaons affrontent le Nigeria pour leur premier match de poule de la Coupe d\u2019Afrique des nations (CAN) \u2013 finalement remport\u00e9 par les Super Eagles (1-0).<\/p>\n

Mais si Iliassou est l\u00e0, c\u2019est \u00ab surtout \u00bb pour un homme ; un footballeur dont il suit tous les matchs \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, pr\u00e9cise-t-il, exhibant tel un troph\u00e9e une pancarte o\u00f9 figure l\u2019inscription : \u00ab Fan club M. Salah \u00bb. Mohamed Salah, la star de l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e9gyptienne et du club anglais Liverpool, est \u00ab l\u2019idole \u00bb, \u00ab le mod\u00e8le \u00bb, \u00ab le dieu du ballon rond en Afrique \u00bb pour le jeune homme, vice-pr\u00e9sident de ce fan-club existant depuis plus de cinq ans \u00e0 Garoua et comptant une centaine de membres.<\/p>\n

Cinq si\u00e8ges plus loin, dans un stade encore vide deux heures avant le d\u00e9but du match, Idrissou Djibrila confesse lui aussi \u00ab un amour fou pour Salah \u00bb. Son \u00ab jeu brillant \u00bb, son \u00ab talent incomparable \u00bb, sa \u00ab fa\u00e7on unique de tenir le ballon \u00bb\u2026 \u00ab Quand j\u2019ai appris qu\u2019il allait jouer ici \u00e0 Garoua, j\u2019\u00e9tais si joyeux, comme si j\u2019avais gagn\u00e9 de l\u2019argent \u00bb, lance le commer\u00e7ant de 30 ans.<\/p>\n

Dans la troisi\u00e8me ville du Cameroun, l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de \u00ab Mo \u00bb Salah, samedi, a suscit\u00e9 la surexcitation des fans. De nombreux admirateurs se sont ru\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e de son h\u00f4tel en criant et chantant, dans l\u2019espoir de voir appara\u00eetre leur joueur f\u00e9tiche. \u00ab C\u2019est un musulman comme moi, il prie comme moi. Il est riche \u00e0 millions mais ne se montre pas, il vit simplement. Il est tellement talentueux. Comment ne pas l\u2019aimer ? \u00bb, explique Mahamat Mahamat, 36 ans. Pris d\u2019une envie irr\u00e9pressible de le voir jouer sous ses yeux, il a m\u00eame accept\u00e9 de se faire vacciner contre le Covid-19 \u2013 une obligation pour pouvoir acc\u00e9der au stade \u2013, malgr\u00e9 sa franche hostilit\u00e9. \u00ab Je m\u2019\u00e9tais pourtant jur\u00e9 de ne jamais me faire injecter le vaccin, soupire-t-il. Je l\u2019ai fait pour lui. \u00bb<\/p>\n

D\u00e9sillusion<\/b><\/p>\n

Dans les gradins, les fans nig\u00e9rians sont en tr\u00e8s grand nombre. La fronti\u00e8re avec le Nigeria est toute proche et de nombreux spectateurs sont arriv\u00e9s par la route. D\u2019autres vivent d\u00e9j\u00e0 au Cameroun. Mais m\u00eame chez les supporteurs des Super Eagles, ils sont plus d\u2019un \u00e0 d\u00e9clarer sans ambages \u00ab \u00eatre hyper fans \u00bb de Mohamed Salah, signe de l\u2019immense popularit\u00e9 de l\u2019attaquant de Liverpool \u00e0 travers le continent. \u00ab Si l\u2019Egypte jouait contre une autre \u00e9quipe, j\u2019aurais support\u00e9 Salah \u00bb, explique Nani Okweze, chapeau vert-blanc-vert (les couleurs du Nigeria) sur la t\u00eate. \u00ab Quand il marque, je passe les plus belles soir\u00e9es. Aujourd\u2019hui, je suis oblig\u00e9e de soutenir le Nigeria, mais je n\u2019aimerais pas qu\u2019on blesse notre Mohamed \u00bb, rench\u00e9rit Eleven.<\/p>\n

Mardi, c\u2019est pourtant la d\u00e9sillusion qui s\u2019est s\u2019empar\u00e9e des nombreux admirateurs du Pharaon. Le seul but de la rencontre a \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9 par le Nig\u00e9rian Kelechi Iheanacho, tandis que Mohamed Salah a manqu\u00e9 sa seule occasion, perdant son duel avec le gardien Maduka Okoye \u00e0 la 71e minute. Mais pour les fans de \u00ab Mo \u00bb, la faute revient \u00e0 l\u2019entra\u00eeneur, qui \u00ab n\u2019a pas su mieux le placer \u00bb ; \u00e0 Liverpool, qui l\u2019a \u00ab lib\u00e9r\u00e9 tardivement \u00bb, ne lui laissant pas le temps de se reposer ; ou encore \u00e0 ses co\u00e9quipiers, qui \u00ab ne savent toujours pas comment jouer avec lui \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Lucide, Iliassou Nana Bah trouve que son \u00ab idole \u00bb n\u2019a pas fait un \u00ab beau \u00bb match. L\u2019Egypte doit encore affronter le Soudan et la Guin\u00e9e-Bissau. \u00ab Je suis convaincu qu\u2019il marquera et qu\u2019on se qualifiera pour le prochain tour \u00bb, assure le vice-pr\u00e9sident du fan-club, toujours envelopp\u00e9 dans le drapeau \u00e9gyptien.<\/p>\n
