Des scientifiques am\u00e9ricains de l’universit\u00e9 Columbia ont constat\u00e9 des changements mol\u00e9culaires similaires dans le cerveau des patients d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s du Covid-19 et de ceux qui souffraient de la maladie d’Alzheimer, ressort-il d’un article paru dans la revue Alsheimer\u2019s and Dementia.<\/p>\n

Les chercheurs ont conclu que le Covid-19 avait un effet n\u00e9gatif sur les r\u00e9cepteurs de la ryanodine, qui sont responsables de la formation des amas de prot\u00e9ines pr\u00e9sents dans le cerveau en cas de maladie d’Alzheimer. Les r\u00e9cepteurs de la ryanodine d\u00e9fectueux sont impliqu\u00e9s dans divers processus pathog\u00e8nes, allant des maladies cardiaques et pulmonaires \u00e0 la r\u00e9ponse du cerveau au stress et \u00e0 la maladie d’Alzheimer, d\u2019apr\u00e8s les scientifiques.<\/p>\n

Les scientifiques pensent que la r\u00e9ponse immunitaire de l’organisme apr\u00e8s le Covid-19 sous forme grave provoque une inflammation dans le cerveau, qui entra\u00eene \u00e0 son tour un dysfonctionnement des r\u00e9cepteurs de la ryanodine.<\/p>\n

Un deuxi\u00e8me facteur d\u00e9couvert<\/b><\/p>\n

Qui plus est, dans cette \u00e9tude, les chercheurs ont trouv\u00e9 des niveaux \u00e9lev\u00e9s de la phosphorylation de la prot\u00e9ine tau dans le cerveau des patients ayant le Covid en plus des r\u00e9cepteurs de ryanodine d\u00e9fectueux. Cette prot\u00e9ine n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9e que dans des zones o\u00f9 elle est typiquement localis\u00e9e chez les patients atteints de la maladie d’Alzheimer, ainsi que dans des zones o\u00f9 elle n’est pas pr\u00e9sente d\u2019habitude chez ce type de patients.<\/p>\n

Cela sugg\u00e8re que cette prot\u00e9ine pourrait \u00eatre un signe de stade pr\u00e9coce de la maladie d’Alzheimer et contribuer \u00e9galement \u00e0 d’autres sympt\u00f4mes neurologiques observ\u00e9s chez les patients qui ont eu le Covid-19.<\/p>\n

Ces r\u00e9sultats pourraient expliquer les probl\u00e8mes de m\u00e9moire signal\u00e9s par les personnes souffrant du Covid, bien que les chercheurs pr\u00e9viennent que l’\u00e9tude est de petite envergure, avec des donn\u00e9es provenant de seulement 10 patients, et qu’elle doit \u00eatre confirm\u00e9e par d’autres recherches.<\/p>\n
