Monica Sousa, une scientifique exp\u00e9riment\u00e9e, avait du mal \u00e0 en croire ses yeux. Dans le petit compartiment en plastique pos\u00e9 sur la paillasse devant elle se trouvait une souris qui, quelques semaines auparavant, \u00e9tait \u00e0 moiti\u00e9 paralys\u00e9e, ses pattes arri\u00e8re tra\u00eenant derri\u00e8re elle partout o\u00f9 elle allait.<\/p>\n

Maintenant, elle trotte et saute m\u00eame de fa\u00e7on acrobatique, bien qu’elle n’ait re\u00e7u que des analg\u00e9siques depuis sa blessure.<\/p>\n

Il n’y a pas de v\u00e9ritable pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent \u00e0 cela. Les mammif\u00e8res, des petits rongeurs aux humains, ne se remettent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement jamais de blessures graves de la moelle \u00e9pini\u00e8re ou du syst\u00e8me nerveux central. Sauf, semble-t-il, pour la souris \u00e9pineuse africaine.<\/p>\n
