Africa-Press – Tchad. <\/strong><\/span>Le 20 octobre 2022, a\u0300 l\u2019appel de l\u2019opposition, des manifestant\u00b7es se sont re\u0301uni\u00b7es, malgre\u0301 l\u2019interdiction des autorite\u0301s, dans plusieurs villes du pays pour protester contre la prolongation de deux ans de la pe\u0301riode de \u00ab transition \u00bb et le maintien de Mahamat Idriss De\u0301by en tant que Pre\u0301sident du Tchad. \u00ab\u00a0Selon les organisations membres de la FIDH et plusieurs me\u0301dias tchadiens, des tirs a\u0300 balles re\u0301elles, des cas de torture et d\u2019arrestations arbitraires sont en cours et auraient de\u0301ja\u0300 fait plusieurs morts et des blesse\u0301\u00b7es graves. Des ambulances transportant des blesse\u0301\u00b7es seraient vise\u0301es par les tirs des forces de l\u2019ordre et de se\u0301curite\u0301. Un journaliste a e\u0301galement e\u0301te\u0301 touche\u0301 mortellement par balle. Des enle\u0300vements cible\u0301s seraient a\u0300 craindre dans la nuit.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

La FIDH et ses organisations membres \u00ab\u00a0condamnent fermement cette re\u0301pression et se tiennent au co\u0302te\u0301 des victimes\u00a0\u00bb : \u00ab\u00a0La violence envers des manifestant\u00b7es de\u0301sarme\u0301\u00b7es n\u2019est pas tole\u0301rable. Elles rappellent par ailleurs que l\u2019utilisation disproportionne\u0301e de la force constitue des atteintes aux liberte\u0301s fondamentales consacre\u0301es dans la constitution tchadienne et les instruments juridiques internationaux et re\u0301gionaux ratifie\u0301s par le Tchad\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

La FIDH et ses organisations membres appellent l\u2019Union africaine, l\u2019Organisation des Nations unies, l\u2019Union europe\u0301enne et les pays ayant des inte\u0301re\u0302ts strate\u0301giques au Tchad, en particulier la France, a\u0300 \u00ab\u00a0agir de toute urgence pour mettre fin aux violences contre la population civile au Tchad\u00a0\u00bb : \u00ab\u00a0Le statut de fait du gouvernement du Tchad, qui jouit d\u2019une impunite\u0301 pour les crimes qu\u2019il commet contre sa population, n\u2019est pas acceptable. La communaute\u0301 internationale ne peut plus prote\u0301ger Mahamat Idriss De\u0301by, qui dirige son pays au me\u0301pris de toutes les re\u0300gles de\u0301mocratiques. Nonobstant les inte\u0301re\u0302ts strate\u0301giques, les tyrans ne doivent pas e\u0302tre tole\u0301re\u0301s\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n
