Ce scrutin marque la fin de la Transition ouverte apre\u0300s la mort au front, le 20 avril 2021, d’Idriss Deby Itno.<\/p>\n

Il aura donc fallu trois bonnes anne\u0301es pour cette longue marche vers les urnes. La Transition e\u0301tait cense\u0301e durer 18 mois, mais elle a e\u0301te\u0301 prolonge\u0301e a\u0300 la faveur du Dialogue national inclusif et souverain (DNIS). Ce DNIS avait du me\u0302me coup autorise\u0301 l’inte\u0301rimaire, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno a\u0300 se pre\u0301senter aux e\u0301lections au prix d’un parjure, puisqu’il avait initialement promis de ne pas candidater a\u0300 la future pre\u0301sidentielle.<\/p>\n

10 pre\u0301tendants au fauteuil supre\u0302me e\u0301taient en lice pour cette e\u0301lection, notamment l’he\u0301ritier du tro\u0302ne des Deby et Succe\u0300s Masra, hier opposant irre\u0301ductible au re\u0301gime, aujourd’hui Premier ministre de son adversaire apre\u0300s un exil suite a\u0300 une sanglante manifestation le 20 octobre 2022 et son retour au pays a\u0300 l’issue de petits arrangements dont on ignore encore tous les tenants et les aboutissants.<\/p>\n

Une candidature pour le moins e\u0301nigmatique dont on se demande si elle porte bien les ambitions pre\u0301sidentielles de l’inte\u0301resse\u0301 ou s’il s’agit d’un simple jeu de ro\u0302le d’un comparse pour donner l’illusion de la cre\u0301dibilite\u0301.<\/p>\n

En tout cas, si ro\u0302le il y a, il l’a bien joue\u0301 en de\u0301clarant lors d’un meeting devant des militants acquis a\u0300 sa cause: \u00ab Tous les sondages me donnent vainqueur \u00bb. Une de\u0301claration qui a pousse\u0301 Deby fils a\u0300 sortir du bois: \u00ab Quarante-cinq jours de stage a\u0300 Harvard, c\u0327a leur tourne la te\u0302te \u00bb, a envoye\u0301 le ge\u0301ne\u0301ral Mahamat en guise de re\u0301ponse.<\/p>\n

Avec toutes ces piques, pour veiller au grain, l’Ange (l’Agence nationale de gestion des e\u0301lections), a accre\u0301dite\u0301 pas moins de 70 organisations ou regroupements d’observateurs nationaux, et une trentaine d’autres internationales et re\u0301gionales telles que celles de l’Organisation internationale de la francophonie (OIF) ou de la Communaute\u0301 e\u0301conomique des Etats de l’Afrique centrale (CEEAC).<\/p>\n

Mais une question taraude toujours les esprits. Celle de savoir si l’Ange n’est pas un de\u0301mon en l’occurrence, car malgre\u0301 ses assurances sur la fiabilite\u0301 du fichier e\u0301lectoral, le fait qu’elle n’ait pas eu \u00ab le temps mate\u0301riel \u00bb pour proce\u0301der a\u0300 une nouvelle re\u0301vision pose proble\u0300me aux yeux de nombreux observateurs de la sce\u0300ne politique tchadienne.<\/p>\n

Une tache parmi tant d’autres dans l’organisation de ces e\u0301lections, me\u0302me si en re\u0301alite\u0301 c\u0327a n’aurait peut-e\u0302tre pas change\u0301 grand-chose dans cette affaire qui semble connue d’avance. Peut-on imaginer un seul instant que le ge\u0301ne\u0301ral d’arme\u0301e, Deby ait mene\u0301 cette bataille e\u0301lectorale pour laisser filer entre ses doigts une victoire qui lui semble promise ?<\/p>\n
