Africa-Press<\/a> – Tchad<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>L\u2019annonce de sa mort a eu lieu quelques heures \u00e0 peine apr\u00e8s celle de sa victoire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle tchadienne, le 20 avril. Idriss D\u00e9by venait d\u2019\u00eatre r\u00e9\u00e9lu \u00e0 la t\u00eate du pays pour un sixi\u00e8me mandat. Arriv\u00e9 au pouvoir en 1990, il n\u2019a eu de cesse de se pr\u00e9senter comme un rempart au chaos qui mena\u00e7ait le pays, mais aussi la r\u00e9gion enti\u00e8re. Notamment face au terrorisme islamiste.<\/p>\n

Cyril Bensimon est journaliste au Monde Afrique, il couvre la r\u00e9gion depuis pr\u00e8s de vingt ans. Il raconte, dans cet \u00e9pisode de \u00ab L\u2019Heure du Monde \u00bb, ce s\u00e9isme qui a fait craindre le pire et qui ne laisse pas la France indiff\u00e9rente. Celle-ci a tr\u00e8s r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement apport\u00e9 un soutien militaire \u00e0 Idriss D\u00e9by. Et le 23 avril, le pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique, Emmanuel Macron, s\u2019est d\u00e9plac\u00e9 au Tchad pour les fun\u00e9railles de l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident.<\/p>\n
