Africa-Press<\/a> – Togo<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Togolais et Ghan\u00e9ens sont de nouveau autour d\u2019une table ronde \u00e0 Lom\u00e9 (du 28 au 30 juillet) pour discuter de la d\u00e9limitation de leur fronti\u00e8re maritime commune. Ces discussions sont cens\u00e9es aboutir \u00e0 un accord entre les deux parties en novembre prochain.<\/p>\n

Ouvrant ce 8\u00e8me round de discussion, le chef de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation togolaise, le ministre Edem Tengu\u00e9 a exhort\u00e9 tous les participants \u00e0 \u00abfaire de cette huiti\u00e8me rencontre, une \u00e9tape aux r\u00e9sultats significatifs et \u00e9volutifs pour le plein accomplissement du chronogramme d\u2019action d\u2019ici novembre 2021\u00bb. Il a \u00e9galement soulign\u00e9 l\u2019importance que rev\u00eatent ces rencontres bilat\u00e9rales : \u00abLe processus de d\u00e9limitation n\u00e9goci\u00e9e que nos deux pays (le Togo et le Ghana) ont engag\u00e9 est un rendez-vous de l\u2019histoire\u00bb, un d\u00e9fi que les deux parties doivent relever ensemble, un pari qu\u2019elles ont l\u2019obligation de gagner.
\nDu 28 au 30 juillet 2021, les d\u00e9l\u00e9gations togolaise et ghan\u00e9enne, entendent examiner la proposition du trac\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par le Ghana. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation togolaise, on se dit regardant sur la proposition du voisin, sans tomber dans l\u2019immobilisme. Membre de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation togolaise, le ministre Stanislas Baba s\u2019exprime tout haut : \u00abNous avons examin\u00e9 la ligne ghan\u00e9enne et nous r\u00e9agirons, nous ferons une contre-proposition qui nous para\u00eet \u00eatre une solution juste \u00e9quitable, susceptible de sauvegarder l\u2019amiti\u00e9 et la fraternit\u00e9 entre nos deux pays\u00bb.
\nCes discussions s\u2019inscrivent dans la droite ligne de la Convention de Montego Bay qui prescrit que chaque pays a droit \u00e0 une mer territoriale, \u00e0 une zone \u00e9conomique et \u00e0 un acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la haute mer. Jusqu\u2019ici, le Togo et le Ghana ont fonctionn\u00e9 dans l\u2019informel et cela a occasionn\u00e9 des incidents mineurs.
\nSelon le Ministre Baba, la logique qui pr\u00e9vaut sur terre pr\u00e9vaut aussi en mer. Chaque pays a des logiques \u00e9conomiques \u00e0 sauvegarder, des int\u00e9r\u00eats environnementaux \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger, des richesses dans son sous-sol \u00e0 sauvegarder.
