Africa-Press – Uganda. The Uganda Cranes have completed their squad assembly in Marrakech, Morocco, following the arrival of six more players.
The six include foreign-based stars Bobosi Byaruhanga, Elio Capradossi, Jordan Obita, Allan Oyirwoth, Isaac Muleme, and Elvis Bwomono.
Their inclusion now brings the total number of players in camp to 27, giving head coach Paul Put a full roster to work with ahead of two crucial international friendlies.
The camp, however, will be without striker Steven Mukwala, who has been ruled out due to a minor injury sustained while playing for his Tanzanian club, Simba SC.
His absence reduces the count of foreign-based players from an initial eight to seven.
Wigan Athletic defender Toby Sibbick was the first overseas-based player to report to camp, arriving yesterday, setting the tone for the final wave of arrivals.
The team is scheduled to hold its second training session this evening in Marrakech, where all 27 players are expected to participate.
These preparations are part of Uganda’s broader efforts to build cohesion and tactical sharpness ahead of competitive matches later in the year.
The Cranes are set to face African heavyweights Cameroon on Friday, June 6, followed by a clash with Gambia on Monday, June 9.
Uganda is aiming to use these friendlies as vital stepping stones toward international competitiveness.
