Africa-Press – Uganda. The National Treasurer of the Democratic Front, Dr. Abed Bwanika, has disclosed that the party spent a total of UGX 600 million to organise its first delegates conference in Masaka.
According to Dr. Bwanika, the funds came from various sources, including well-wishers abroad and party members themselves.
In an interview, Dr. Bwanika revealed that some of the funds were generated from within the party, including contributions from NUP members of Parliament who still support Mathias Mpuuga.
“Some of the funds were from well-wishers abroad, some were from the party members themselves,” Dr. Bwanika said.
“We also generated 63 million shillings from some NUP members of Parliament who still believe in the abilities of Mathias Mpuuga.”
Dr. Bwanika’s disclosure provides insight into the party’s financial situation and its ability to mobilise resources from its members and supporters.
