Kasese NRM Chairperson Urges Unity and Discipline

Africa-Press – Uganda. James Mbahimba, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party’s chairperson for Kasese District, has called on all party candidates and supporters to conduct themselves with dignity during the ongoing internal campaigns.

Speaking on July 4, 2025, ahead of a series of joint rallies, Mbahimba urged aspirants to respect one another and present their manifestos peacefully, without inciting conflict or engaging in showmanship.

“This is a friendly match we are playing within ourselves. We are preparing for the bigger political league, and I expect candidates and their supporters to conduct themselves with dignity,” he said.

To ensure fairness, Mbahimba announced that a single public address system would be used at all events so that no candidate is seen to have an advantage.

He cautioned against flexing political muscle or turning the competition into personal feuds, insisting that all aspirants belong to the same political family.

“We are trying to avoid divisions and violence at all costs. I don’t expect flexing or showdowns at our rallies,” he added.

The chairperson also disclosed that he had engaged with security agencies and held planning meetings with campaign teams to guarantee orderly conduct and coordination throughout the process.

Mbahimba reaffirmed the NRM’s commitment to discipline and unity, particularly in politically competitive regions like Kasese, where past internal contests have sometimes sparked tensions.
