Nup’S Leadership School Teaches Integrity, not Corruption - Rubongoya

Africa-Press – Uganda. The Secretary General of The National Unity Platform, David Lewis Rubongoya, has urged graduates to showcase the party’s commitment to developing future leaders.

Rubongoya made the remarks at the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the 2nd Cohort of The NUP School of Leadership at the party Headquarters in Makerere, Kavule on Friday.

Rubongoya highlighted the school’s unique operational model, appreciating President Kyagulanyi’s efforts to ensure that pupils utilitize the facility in Kamwokya at no cost.

“I want to appreciate President Kyagulanyi’s efforts in ensuring the land we operate on in Kamwokya is secure.

Addressing the school’s resilience, Rubongoya did not shy away from discussing past challenges.

“When our school was raided and our books stolen, we remained undeterred,” Rubongoya said.

“Despite challenges, we continue to provide leadership training without financial burden,” Rubongoya added.

He drew a sharp contrast between their approach and government institutions like Kyankwanzi, asserting, “While some institutions teach how to steal, we are teaching Ugandan future leaders about integrity.”

The NUP leader was transparent about the party’s financial constraints, revealing that while NRM receives 75% of political funding, NUP operates on just 12%.

“Look at what we’ve accomplished with our limited resources,” Rubongoya challenged, “imagine what more we can do when we take power.”

The school’s curriculum is comprehensive and ideologically driven, covering critical areas such as the NUP’s political philosophy, Ugandan history, public communication, pathways to political change, leadership with action, and governance and civil liberties.

“Our teachers aren’t paid; they teach out of commitment to our vision as the National Unity Platform,” Rubongoya noted.

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony represented a testament to the NUP’s unwavering commitment to developing principled, action-oriented political leadership in Uganda.
