Africa-Press – Uganda. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has commenced the dispatch of election materials from its office in Arua City to neighboring districts ahead of the party’s primary elections.
By 7:00am on Tuesday, materials were already being sent out to Madi Okollo, Arua District, and Terego, with party officials confident that all logistics are in place for a smooth exercise.
According to Tom Amagu, the NRM party registrar in Arua City, all the necessary items required to conduct the primaries had arrived on time, and the exercise was scheduled to begin promptly at 10:00am.
“We have received all the materials and distributed them according to plan. We are ready to kick off the voting exercise without delay,” Amagu said.
Meanwhile, West Nile Regional Police spokesperson Collins Asea assured the public that security personnel are on the ground to ensure a peaceful and orderly process.
“Security is on standby in all areas to handle any confusion or incidents that may arise during the voting,” Asea stated.
The NRM primaries are expected to attract significant attention in the region, with several candidates vying for various positions within the party structures.
