Africa-Press – Uganda. The National Unity Platform (NUP) has expanded its presence in Kasese District with the official opening of a second party office, a move aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization in the Rwenzori sub-region.
The event, presided over by NUP’s National Mobilizer Habib Buwembo, attracted party members, local leaders, and new recruits from across the district.
Buwembo welcomed 70 defectors from various political parties into the NUP fold, describing the development as “a clear sign that the people of Kasese are ready for change.”
“We are building a strong network of committed leaders and members who will stand firm for justice, equality, and a better Uganda,” Buwembo told the gathering.
During the ceremony, Buwembo also commissioned newly elected structure leaders, tasking them with spearheading NUP’s grassroots activities, mobilization drives, and community engagement programs ahead of future elections.
Party supporters hailed the establishment of the second office as a strategic move that will bring NUP closer to the people, enabling them to organize more effectively in the district.
Kasese, traditionally a stronghold of the opposition, has recently witnessed increased political activity as parties position themselves for upcoming electoral contests.
