Africa-Press – Uganda. Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has thrown his support behind “Unstoppable UG,” a new youth-led campaign launched by Generation Z to champion President Museveni’s re-election ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking at the launch event held at Serena Hotel in Kampala, Tayebwa said the movement represents a new wave of youthful energy aimed at celebrating Uganda’s progress under Museveni’s four-decade rule.
“The Gen Zs yesterday launched ‘Unstoppable UG’ for H.E. Kaguta Museveni’s re-election. What do you do when something is truly unstoppable? You’ve got to join! Thus, I had the pleasure of joining them for the launch,” Tayebwa said in a statement.
The campaign, he said, seeks to highlight Uganda’s transformation since 1986, chronicling “a journey of resilience and progress” that has seen the country recover from economic collapse to relative stability and growth.
According to Tayebwa, the “Unstoppable UG” caravan kicked off from Nakasero and will traverse the entire country, reaching all border districts.
It features Sevo Cafés mobile coffee hubs serving Ugandan coffee and a Sevo Café podcast series hosted by Gen Z youth, who will engage Ugandans from different backgrounds on the nation’s journey of peace, stability, and youth empowerment.
The campaign will also feature performances from prominent Ugandan musicians, including Bebe Cool and Alien Skin, who Tayebwa described as part of the “unstoppable spirit” of Uganda’s youthful generation.
“Uganda has come a long way since 1986 from the days when the economy lacked basic needs like food, water, shelter, and clothing to today’s times of plenty,” Tayebwa said, praising the NRM government’s achievements over the years.
He urged young Ugandans to actively participate in preserving the progress made over the last four decades, saying the responsibility to secure the country’s future rests on their shoulders.
“Dear Gen Z and all Ugandans, don’t miss the chance to add your voice to the conversation on consolidating the gains and securing the progress of the past four decades. These gains are yours, Gen Zs. Be at the forefront of protecting them. Vote Sevo,” Tayebwa said.
