Africa-Press – Uganda. The Most Rt.Rev. Dr. Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has called on Ugandans to embrace peace, unity, and love as the country prepares for a tense election period and major upcoming national celebrations.

Presiding over a special service at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nakasero, where two priests and one deacon were ordained, Archbishop Kaziimba reminded citizens that Uganda is home to all people created by God and urged them to safeguard peaceful coexistence at all times.

“Uganda is a God fearing country let politics not separate you always maintain peace and unity without segregating one Another “Kaziimba Said

The service also included the formal send-off of the Bishop-elect of Busoga Diocese, Rev. Canon Prof. Grace Lubaale, who has been serving in the Diocese of Kampala.

Seven additional clergy from various dioceses were officially received into the Diocese of Kampala and sworn in to adhere to the Church’s canon laws as they continue their ministry.

In his message to the congregation, Archbishop Kaziimba stressed that forgiveness, reconciliation, and love must guide Ugandans during politically charged times. He warned against discrimination based on tribe, region, or political affiliation, noting that national unity is a shared responsibility.

Preaching during the service, Rev. Canon Ssalongo Kisawuzi, the retired Dean of Namirembe Cathedral, cautioned leaders against pride, arrogance, and the misuse of power.

He criticised those who exploit their positions to oppress others or disregard the country’s laws, reminding them that worldly authority is temporary.

Many Ugandans these days are so arrogant because they are in bigger positions and these ended up mistreating their fellow ones without good reasons “Kisawuzi noted

The day also marked a significant transition for Bishop-elect Lubaale, who received blessings and commendation from Archbishop Kaziimba for his dedicated service in Kampala. Lubaale expressed gratitude for the support and pledged to prioritise evangelism and development as he prepares to take on his new responsibilities as the fourth Bishop of Busoga Diocese.

His consecration and enthronement are scheduled for next weekend, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Busoga Diocese.
