Kyagulanyi Launches Rubaga Campaign for Peace

Africa-Press – Uganda. National Unity Platform (NUP) president and 2026 presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, on Tuesday set off from the party’s headquarters to Rubaga Division to begin his national campaign, seeking support ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The Rubaga campaign marks one of Kyagulanyi’s early mobilization activities as he intensifies outreach to voters across the country. Supporters gathered along the route as the NUP leader departed the party offices, signaling the start of engagements aimed at consolidating grassroots support.

As part of his schedule in the area, Kyagulanyi is also slated to visit Bulange, where he is expected to meet the Katikkiro of Buganda. The meeting is anticipated to focus on issues affecting the Buganda Kingdom and the wider national political landscape.

Ahead of the campaign activities, Kyagulanyi appealed to his supporters to maintain peace and discipline throughout the mobilisation drive.

He urged them to strictly observe traffic rules and conduct themselves lawfully, emphasising that the campaign should reflect NUP’s commitment to non-violence and respect for the rule of law.

“We want a peaceful campaign that puts the safety of our people first,” Kyagulanyi said in a message to supporters, calling for calm and cooperation with security and traffic authorities.

The Rubaga engagement is expected to draw large crowds, with party officials noting that similar activities will be rolled out in other parts of the country as Kyagulanyi builds momentum toward the 2026 elections.
