Africa-Press – Uganda. Next Com, through the Next Creator programme, is set to equip young Ugandans with media skills and help them transition into the creative economy. The programme will operate across regional hubs in different parts of Uganda, giving special attention to those in peri-urban and rural areas who often miss out on such opportunities.
The first cohort begins with an online onboarding session on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Training will focus on practical media production. Participants will learn how to plan, produce and present content across different platforms. The programme provides access to professional workspaces where trainees can practise their hands-on skills in real studio environments.
Mentorship forms a central part of the journey. Each participant connects with an experienced media professional who offers guidance and honest feedback on their work. The programme also supports workforce transition, helping trainees find jobs or freelance opportunities once they complete their training.
The programme is designed to be inclusive and welcomes applications from all young creatives who want to build a career in media. Sessions are structured to accommodate different needs, ensuring everyone can take part fully.
Beyond technical skills, the programme aims to improve financial independence for young creatives. Participants learn how to turn their talents into sustainable income, whether through formal employment or freelance work. This focus on financial inclusion gives them tools to build long-term careers.
Applications remain open for those who have not yet applied. Register through this link: https://forms.gle/zbMh5jTjrE71SAG57 or simply click here. If you applied already, check your email for the shortlist notice and confirm your attendance if selected.
