Africa-Press – Uganda. Ruth Sophie Birabawa, the mother of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) president Moses Magogo, has died.
The news was confirmed on Wednesday by the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, who shared a brief family statement announcing that Birabawa passed away on April 8, 2026 at Kampala Hospital.
“Dear friends, family, and valued colleagues, it is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Mother, Mama Birabawa Ruth Sophie, mother of my dear husband, Honourable Eng. Moses Magogo,” Among wrote.
According to the funeral programme released alongside the statement, a vigil will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Magogo family home in Kagulu, Buyende District.
Burial is scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026.
“We deeply appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May the Almighty Allah grant her eternal peace—Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” the statement concluded.
