Africa-Press – Uganda. A total of 221 soldiers from the Military Police Brigade have successfully completed a two-week refresher training aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and professional conduct.
The training, held at Buyala, Nsujju Mporwe in Mpigi District, focused on key operational areas including VVIP protection, checkpoint operations, public order management, tactical terrain modelling, physical fitness, and combat karate.
Presiding over the pass-out ceremony, the Commandant of the Military Police Brigade, Major General William Bainomugisha, underscored the importance of discipline and responsibility in the force, urging officers and personnel to take their assignments seriously.
“We must be extremely serious with the assignments given to us. The ranks you wear on your shoulders are not for decoration; they are a symbol of responsibility in the execution of your duties,” he said.
The Brigade Operations and Training Officer, Colonel Sylvia Meeme, highlighted the significance of continuous training in improving performance.
She credited the Commandant for consistently facilitating such programs and commended the trainees for their progress within the short duration.
“You have achieved a lot in a short time. I urge you to take up such opportunities with morale and positivity because they are important in your day-to-day professional lives,” she said.
The ceremony was attended by both senior and junior officers, reflecting the brigade’s ongoing emphasis on building capacity and maintaining standards across all levels of service.
