Africa-Press – Uganda. It is four wins from as many games for new Vipers Brazilian coach Robertinho Oliveira.
The latest victory, a 5-0 thumping of Wakiso Giants sees them top of the Uganda Premier League as match-day two kicked off on Friday afternoon with three games.
Yunus Sentamu was the star of the show scoring four times to continue his rich goal-scoring form from last season in which he top-scored with 16 goals.
Having missed his side’s opening 2-0 win over Police, he quickly got off the mark after Milton Karisa’s ball reached him via a deflection.
He then beat the advancing Samson Kirya in the Wakiso goal with a low finish between his legs.
Wakiso appealed for offside although replays seemed to suggest otherwise and with the last touch coming off one of their own it was always going to be difficult for the decision to be in their favour.
Worse was to follow with Sentamu adding the second on 23 minutes when he stabbed home after Karisa’s cross-shot hit fell into his path coming off the bar.
Caesar Manzoki punished more slack marking from Wakiso heading in the rebound after Sentamu’s shot was parried into his path.
Wakiso players will not want to watch the replays as they again protested the goal although Joshua Lubwama had played Manzoki well onside.
Wakiso were further punished for losing their heads with George Kaddu sent off after two needles bookings that he followed up with throwing away the referee’s cards.
Vipers though were unrelenting and Sentamu got his third with a thumping header after fine work from Aziz Kayondo in the second half.
He then completed his four-goal haul with a low drive after beating a couple of halfhearted challenges.
Elsewhere, Bul started their league season with a 2-1 win over Police at the Kyabazinga Stadium with goals from Ibrahim Mugulusi and Richard Wandyaka while Brian Muluuli replied for the cops.
Onduparaka are meanwhile onto four points after a header from Dudu Ramadan gave the Arua-based side a 1-0 win away to Bright Stars.
Match-day two action continues on Tuesday.
