Africa-Press – Uganda. The former cultural leader of Bamasaba Bob Mushikori who died early this month will be buried next week at his ancestral home in Bududa District in Bugisu sub region, eastern Uganda.
The burial arrangements issued by the head of the communication committee, Mr Eric Mukhwana, indicate that official mourning started yesterday (January 23, 2021) and will continue for seven days with flags flying at half-mast in Mushikori’s honour until burial date.
He said there will be a night vigil at Umukuuka’s home in Mbale District on January 27, 2021 followed by a funeral service at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on January 28 and thereafter the body will be taken to Inzu parliament in Malukhu for another night vigil.
Mr Mukhwana said on January 29, 2021, there will be a public viewing of the body at Mutoto Cultural Grounds and thereafter to Bududa for another night vigil before his burial on January 30, 2021 at his ancestral home in Busai, Bududa.
He said Mushikori who died on January 4 couldn’t be buried then because they were waiting for campaigns and election activities to end to get government input as well as wait for his children who were out of the country return for the ceremonies.
