Africa-Press – Uganda. Two passengers have narrowly survived death after the Isuzu pickup truck they were traveling in overturned on Jinja Road near the Ministry of Internal Affairs offices.
According to the traffic officer on duty identified only as Ayera, the brakes of the truck gave way and the driver couldn’t maneuver after that.
“The brakes failed leading to the truck overturning,” Ayera said.
The driver escaped unhurt and fled the scene of the accident. The truck which was from Mukono district and was loaded with matooke suffered a shattered windscreen.
Hajat Jalia Sekidde, a businesswoman, and the turn boy are nursing injuries.
Sympathisers came to Sekidde’s aid and helped to offload the matooke.
