Africa-Press – Uganda. Salam Charity Foundation has donated sh40m towards the construction of Kabasanda mosque in Butambala district.
The money was handed over to the mosque management by Salam Charity Foundation managing director Haji Abdul-Karim Kaliisa last week.
The sh2.6b mosque is poised to become the largest in the district, with a sitting capacity of over 1,000 people.Kaliisa said they are determined to complete it despite the death of his brother Dr Abdul-Noor Kaliisa, who spearheaded its construction.
Sheikh Murta Bukenya applauded the charity for its commitment to construct the mosque.
Bukenya said building a mosque is a wonderful act of faith.
“I encourage all Muslims to contribute to the construction of the mosque because it gives an unending reward,” he said.
