Muhoozi Suggests 500 Canes from Prison Warders to 'Cure P Diddy'

Africa-Press – Uganda. A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked outrage after Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba suggested that American rapper and business mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs could be “cured” of alleged sexual deviance through corporal punishment.

“If P. Diddy is a sexual deviant, African methods of treating such problems are tried and tested. After 500 canes from our Prison warders he will be cured.” Muhoozi posted on October 4.

The message, which appears to reference allegations against Diddy has stirred controversy for promoting violence and oversimplifying serious legal matters.

The post evokes historical and cultural methods of punishment from certain African contexts, implying that corporal discipline could resolve such behavioural issues.

While the post has garnered criticism for promoting physical violence as a solution, it also highlights broader societal views on how alleged sexual misconduct should be addressed.

Legal and human rights experts quickly condemned the post, noting that corporal punishment is unacceptable in most legal systems and does little to address the root causes of deviant behaviour.

Social media users have also denounced the post, urging more responsible discussions around allegations of sexual misconduct.

Combs, a three-time Grammy winner and one of the most influential hip-hop producers of the past three decades, has been facing a wave of lawsuits by women who have accused him of sexual assault.

Combs – also known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He now faces dozens of new allegations in a series of lawsuits set to be filed, which also include other perpetrators.

The allegations of sexual deviance stems from evidence of lubicrants and baby oils that were recovered from Mr Comb’s homes during a search by the authorities.
