Africa-Press – Uganda. Papa Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng, the paramount chief of the Iteso Cultural Union, recently undertook a landmark visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to advance opportunities for the Iteso community.
The visit followed the vibrant Ateker Re-Union Festival, underscoring his commitment to his people’s development.
The Iteso Cultural Union’s deputy information minister, Mr Stephen Ojacor, said the discussions covered critical areas including employment, agriculture, education, health, tourism, trade, infrastructure, and industry.
Accompanied by Iteso Cultural Union dignitaries, including Amb David Emoot, Mr Simon Ojaman, and three princesses, Emorimor attended the 2024 Eboo Festival, a cultural event organized by the Iteso community in Dubai.
In addition to celebrating cultural heritage, the delegation held high-level meetings with UAE government officials and business leaders.
These engagements yielded significant pledges to support the Ere Iteso (Iteso Palace) initiative, a vital cultural and development project for the Iteso people.
“The outcomes of these discussions promise to strengthen cultural ties and enhance development within the Iteso community,” Ojacor remarked.
This visit exemplifies the Iteso Cultural Union’s proactive approach to tackling regional challenges such as youth unemployment and inadequate infrastructure by forging global partnerships.
With the UAE’s dynamic economy as an ally, Emorimor is steering his people toward a more prosperous future.
As the delegation returns, anticipation grows for these talks to materialize into impactful projects, showcasing cultural diplomacy as a driving force for sustainable development.
