Africa-Press<\/a> – Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Fufa presidential hopeful Mujib Kasule has mooted the idea of joining hands with opposing challengers as a strong front that can help kick Moses Magogo out of Mengo.<\/p>\n

Kasule picked his nomination forms yesterday at Fufa House in Mengo. The Proline director arrived in a classy silver Mercedes at 9am driven by the Fufa Big League club chairman Hussein Kato, but was not attended to until 11am.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have less than 48 hours to traverse the entire country looking for signatures,\u201d Kasule said acerbically.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ground is not levelled but this happens when the ground is not levelled. Our chances are high because Ugandans want change in football.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also expressed concerns over the Shs3m nomination fees for each candidate and the Shs500,000 for each of the mandated 14 executive members.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is about Shs10m non-refundable, which is geared towards fending off half-hearted challengers. We are planning a joint candidature with Ali Ssekatawa to see that we bring about change,\u201d Kasule revealed.<\/p>\n

Ssekatawa, a former Uganda Cranes and KCCA forward who is certified by Caf as a coaches instructor, had to explain his seven-year experience in football management to the Fufa electoral commissioners, who had doubted it.<\/p>\n

Kasule is supposed to return his papers tomorrow to go through a sieve to determine whether he will be on the ballot paper at the Mbale Fufa general assembly in August.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know Magogo has already manipulated and threatened the regional delegates supposed to give us signatures but we\u2019re not relenting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Matthias Bwire, the Fufa electoral chairman, they expect many candidates to turn up before tomorrow\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n

\u201cKasule has known about the electoral roadmap for over three months so we don\u2019t expect him to cry foul,\u201d Bwire said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect him to return the forms on Wednesday at exactly midday. We don\u2019t want him to clash with other candidates while returning his forms. He shouldn\u2019t miss his academic papers, experience in managing football and also show the credibility of his executive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana (Nyamityobora) and Magogo had both not picked their forms by press time.<\/p>\n
