{"id":112515,"date":"2025-10-18T17:48:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T17:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/microfinance-support-centre-launches-five-year-plan"},"modified":"2025-10-18T17:48:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T17:48:38","slug":"microfinance-support-centre-launches-five-year-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/microfinance-support-centre-launches-five-year-plan","title":{"rendered":"Microfinance Support Centre Launches Five-Year Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Uganda. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) has unveiled a new five-year Strategic Plan (2025\/26\u20132029\/30), aimed at deepening financial inclusion, creating jobs, and fighting poverty at the grassroots level.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The plan, launched at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, underscores government\u2019s renewed commitment to building a financially resilient and economically empowered citizenry.<\/p>\n<p>Finance, Planning and Economic Development Minister Matia Kasaija, who presided over the launch, called on Ugandan especially the youth\u2014to embrace productive ventures and strengthen their saving culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want people to join the financial economy by making them have money in their pockets through a strong saving culture,\u201d Kasaija emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we are to transform Uganda, our people must reduce wasteful expenditure and focus on investments that create value and sustainability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that Uganda\u2019s rapid population growth demands deliberate and innovative economic interventions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur interventions in promoting financial inclusion, job creation, and wealth generation at the grassroots are part of government\u2019s long-term vision to transform Uganda into a middle-income economy,\u201d Kasaija said.<\/p>\n<p>The new strategic plan is anchored on the theme \u201cAffordable Microfinance Services for Wealth and Job Creation.\u201d It focuses on scaling up access to affordable credit, supporting community-based financial institutions, and enhancing digital financial services to reach rural populations.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kiiza Aliba Emmanuel, the Chairperson of the MSC Board, reaffirmed the Centre\u2019s commitment to intensifying poverty eradication efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Microfinance Support Centre is determined to reach every corner of Uganda.
