{"id":121563,"date":"2026-04-04T10:28:54","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T10:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/capital-markets-authority-trains-entrepreneurs-on-investment"},"modified":"2026-04-04T11:35:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T11:35:10","slug":"capital-markets-authority-trains-entrepreneurs-on-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/capital-markets-authority-trains-entrepreneurs-on-investment","title":{"rendered":"Capital Markets Authority Trains Entrepreneurs on Investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Uganda. <\/strong> <\/span><b>The Capital Markets Authority Uganda has convened a capacity-building workshop for business founders at Four Points by Sheraton Kampala, aimed at equipping entrepreneurs with the knowledge and technical expertise needed to access and effectively participate in Uganda\u2019s capital markets.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The workshop focused on strengthening investment readiness among businesses, with sessions covering how to craft compelling financial narratives to attract private equity, explore diverse capital-raising avenues for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and understand the requirements for listing on the stock exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were also introduced to the deal flow facility implemented by Financial Sector Deepening Uganda in collaboration with the Capital Markets Authority, an initiative designed to connect businesses with potential investors and financing opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The training aligns with the Authority\u2019s mandate on issuer education and forms part of broader efforts to deepen market participation, foster sustainable growth, and contribute to Uganda\u2019s long-term economic transformation.<\/p>\n<p>In her opening remarks, Josephine Okui Ossiya, Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Markets Authority, emphasized the institution\u2019s commitment to expanding access to investment opportunities and supporting businesses in raising capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very easy to come up with ideas, but the challenge lies in execution, which requires capital. As the Capital Markets Authority, we are committed to supporting businesses to create pathways and ensure that capital markets work for them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Since its establishment, the Capital Markets Authority has played a central role in shaping Uganda\u2019s financial ecosystem.
