Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>Buganda Kingdom has stepped up efforts to restore moral values and cultural norms among its subjects as part of preparations to mark the 71st birthday of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.<\/b><\/p>\n

The campaign, now gaining momentum across various counties (amasaza), is focused on promoting discipline, respect, unity, and responsible living\u2014values deeply rooted in Buganda\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

In Bugerere County, leaders and cultural institutions gathered at Ggombolola Mumyuka in Kayunga Town Council for a cultural event commonly known as \u201cekyooto.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the engagement, teachers and local leaders called on communities, particularly the youth, to embrace these values as a way of strengthening the kingdom.<\/p>\n

The Mumyuka, Magaret Nambi Ssempala, highlighted a range of activities already rolled out in the area.<\/p>\n

These include community cleaning exercises, tree planting initiatives, and sensitisation programmes aimed at addressing social challenges such as HIV\/Aids, drug abuse, and moral decline.<\/p>\n

The initiatives align with the Kabaka\u2019s long-standing advocacy for a healthy, responsible, and morally upright society, often emphasised through his annual birthday campaigns.<\/p>\n

Officials within the kingdom noted that the celebrations are not only meant for festivity but also serve as a moment of reflection and renewal of cultural identity.<\/p>\n

Subjects have been encouraged to actively participate in community-based activities that promote unity and development.<\/p>\n

The upcoming celebrations are expected to draw thousands of people from across Buganda, highlighting the kingdom\u2019s continued commitment to preserving cultural values while confronting modern-day social challenges.<\/p>\n
