Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>The Public Relations Association of Uganda has celebrated its 50th Annual General Meeting with the launch of digital membership IDs, signaling a shift toward innovation and enhanced service delivery in the communications sector.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) has marked its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM), celebrating a significant milestone in its mission to advance public relations excellence in Uganda.<\/p>\n

The landmark AGM, held at Hotel Africana, brought together members, industry leaders, and stakeholders to reflect on the association\u2019s journey, assess its performance, and chart a path forward in an evolving communications landscape.<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the AGM was the official launch of PRAU\u2019s Digital Membership Identification cards, a move that signals the association\u2019s shift toward innovation and enhanced member experience. The digital IDs are designed to provide members with convenient access to their professional credentials, enable seamless participation in association activities, and offer secure verification of membership status through a modern digital platform.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the AGM, PRAU President Irene Nakasiita commended members for their continued commitment and support over the years, noting that their dedication has enabled both past and current Governing Councils to effectively deliver on the association\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that the introduction of digital membership IDs reflects PRAU\u2019s readiness to adapt to global digital trends and respond to the changing needs of its members. According to Nakasiita, the new system will streamline membership management while improving accessibility, inclusivity, and engagement within the association.<\/p>\n

The AGM also served as a platform to review PRAU\u2019s achievements over the past year, including professional development initiatives, strategic industry partnerships, and advocacy efforts aimed at raising standards within Uganda\u2019s public relations sector. Members engaged in forward-looking discussions on how the association can further strengthen its position as a leading voice in the communications industry.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the Governing Council outlined key priorities for the coming year, including preparations for PRAU\u2019s 50-year anniversary celebrations, expanding the membership base, enhancing training and capacity-building programs, and leveraging technology to better serve members.<\/p>\n

The launch of the digital IDs, which was met with enthusiasm by members, underscored PRAU\u2019s commitment to providing practical, user-friendly solutions.
