Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>Uganda is hosting a high-level delegation of Chinese investors and industry representatives as part of the ongoing Uganda\u2013China Coffee Investment and Destination Tour 2026, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and market linkages between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

The delegation, which arrived in the country this week, is part of an organised visit coordinated by Uganda\u2019s Embassy in Beijing in collaboration with the Consulate in Guangzhou.<\/p>\n

The tour runs from 10th to 23rd April 2026.<\/p>\n

It brings together representatives from several leading Chinese firms, including Shandong Huajian Aluminum Group, Beijing Liujian Group Co., Ltd., Wuxi Jiangnan Cable Co., Ltd, Hainan Zhongyu International Cooperation Co., Ltd, Africa Cultural & Tourism Center, Beijing 7Sea Holidays International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Jubangbang Agriculture Co., Ltd, and Silk Road Global International Exhibition (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., among others.<\/p>\n

Officials said the delegation will undertake a comprehensive investment and familiarisation programme across Uganda\u2019s key economic and tourism hubs, with a focus on industrialisation, agro-processing, and tourism development.<\/p>\n

The investors are expected to visit major industrial zones including Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, Liao Shen Industrial Park, and Namanve Industrial Park, where they will assess opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, and export-oriented production.<\/p>\n

The tour is also designed to showcase Uganda\u2019s agricultural value chain, particularly the coffee sector, which remains one of the country\u2019s leading foreign exchange earners.<\/p>\n

Delegates will engage with producers at the Ankole Coffee Producers Cooperative Union and visit a coffee processing facility in Bushenyi, where they will observe operations along the production and export chain.<\/p>\n

Beyond investment sites, the delegation will also experience Uganda\u2019s tourism potential through visits to key attractions such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Rwenzori Mountains National Park, and the Source of the Nile.<\/p>\n

Officials say the blend of investment and tourism exposure is intended to position Uganda as a competitive destination for both capital inflows and leisure travel, particularly from the Asian market.<\/p>\n

The Uganda\u2013China Coffee Investment and Destination Tour is part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral relations between Kampala and Beijing, with emphasis on agro-industrialisation, tourism development, mineral-based industrialisation, and science, technology, and innovation.<\/p>\n

Government officials say such engagements are expected to translate into stronger market access for Ugandan products, increased foreign direct investment, and expanded cooperation in strategic economic sectors.<\/p>\n
