Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>Matchday 4 of the Chaapa League, powered by Guinness, lived up to expectations on Sunday, April 12 at NEC Grounds in Bugolobi, Kampala, with decisive results, dramatic moments, and growing intensity in the push for slots in the playoffs.<\/b><\/p>\n

Defending champions Yobo Yobo maintained their perfect start to the season with a composed 2-0 victory over Dingiswayo. Goals from Jim and Sharif ensured the title holders remain firmly among the early leaders as they continue to set the pace.<\/p>\n

Joint table leaders SC Rwizi continued their strong run with a narrow 1-0 win over X Convicts, further underlining their credentials as serious contenders this season.<\/p>\n

Bulls Old Timers also kept themselves in the playoffs conversation with a 2-1 win over Akajju, who remain without a victory this season. Despite a spirited effort, Akajju could not overturn their struggles, leaving them rooted among the bottom sides.<\/p>\n

In one of the tightly contested fixtures of the day, Karasande and Mutakoha played out an entertaining 1-1 draw, a result that does little to separate the two sides in the mid-table standings.<\/p>\n

There was late drama in the clash between CHOGM and Ruharo, where a stoppage-time equalizer from Trevor rescued a 2-2 draw for Ruharo after CHOGM had looked set to secure all three points.<\/p>\n

See Far continued their impressive form with a 2-0 victory over Unruly, while TY Sheldon finally registered their first win of the campaign. They secured a 2-0 result thanks to a goal from Henry and an own goal by Tinka.<\/p>\n

Kataara\u2019s struggles also persisted as an unfortunate own goal by Tibi handed Ezekyeenda a 1-0 win, giving Ezekyeenda a much-needed boost in their campaign.<\/p>\n

Off the pitch, the matchday atmosphere was further elevated by the presence of Old Boys from the Ntare Lions League, who turned up in solidarity with their Mbarara counterparts, adding to the sense of community around the competition.<\/p>\n

Chaapa League Marketing Manager Christian Arinaitwe noted that the competition is steadily reaching a critical point as teams begin to position themselves for the next phase of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe league is becoming more competitive with every matchday, and you can see that in the results and performances. Teams are now fully aware of what is at stake, especially with only eight slots available for the playoffs after the regular season. We are also grateful to our sponsors like Guinness who continue to support the growth of the league and enhance the experience for both players and fans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Fans also enjoyed Guinness, which was readily available throughout the day, while live DJ mixes added to the lively atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Denise Nazzinda, the Guinness Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries, reaffirmed the brand\u2019s commitment to the competition.<\/p>\n

The Chaapa League will return on Sunday, April 19 for Matchday 5 at the same venue.<\/p>\n
