Africa-Press<\/a> – Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Fast-rising motocross star Miguel Katende has been ruled out for the rest of the season after an accident at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday.The Lato Milk-sponsored rider was rushed to hospital after falling in the first heat of the day, which was the 65cc class. The crash left the youngster with a fracture on the lower backbone and after undergoing scans the doctors have advised him to stay out of action for more than three months.<\/p>\n

The Semka racing academy rider was one of the six riders who competed in the Kenya MX event.George Ssemakula, the father of the rider, says the rider is back in the country and is thankful to the medical staff and parents who did everything to see that the rider gets the necessary medical care while in Kenya. Upon return to the country on Monday, Katende was taken to Victoria Hospital in the Bukoto suburb and continues to undergo treatment.<\/p>\n

The rider will now require a jacket that will enable the restoration of his knees in their natural position.Kylan Wekesa was the best Ugandan rider in Nairobi. The Team Uganda captain won all the three heats on the day to emerge winner in the MX2 Class.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Katende dropped out of the 50cc category after his bike got a mechanical problem in the last heat of the day. Filbert Muwonge, in the same class, finished seventh overall.
