Africa-Press<\/a> – Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Talons\u2019 Sonia Mwere and Colts\u2019 newly drafted Ethan Kalunji \u201ccame out of nowhere\u201d to force themselves into the top four swimmers of the breaststroke leg in the ongoing second edition of the Altona-BSK (British School of Kampala) League held at the school on Friday.<\/p>\n

Perennial winner and Colts\u2019 captain Tara Kisawuzi was still dominant posting 19.6 seconds in her main 25m breast race but that was a bit off her 17.8 personal best (PB) set in May\u2019s first edition.<\/p>\n

Talons captain Abigail Mwagale came second with 20 seconds and was followed by Kalunji (20.4), taking part in only his second race of the league, and Mwere (21.6).<\/p>\n

When the four met in the best of four \u2013 which is composed of three elimination races to determine who touches the wall first in the last \u2013 Mwagale, for the second time in this league stunned Kisawuzi.<\/p>\n

The first time was in the first-ever best of four rounds during the first edition\u2019s butterfly leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday was hot, I didn\u2019t see it coming. Maybe we\u2019re starting to have serious competition and have the league shape up the way we want.<\/p>\n

\u201cSonia has good upper body strength and she worked it today. That was nice to see,\u201d coach Erick Kisero said. \u201cAlso, we had a number of PBs and maybe it is because we have been working on improving our breaststroke as a club in the past two weeks\u201d<\/p>\n

Colts, who also had siblings Vanessa and Nathan Mubiru added to their drafts, went on to win their second leg of the league with 234 points to Talons 205. Their first win came in the first edition backstroke leg they won 110-103.<\/p>\n
