Africa-Press<\/a> – Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Local rugby returns early next month when the National Sevens Series kicks off. Clubs have started preparations and Stanbic Black Pirates management followed suit by handing over relief support in the shape of food to players, moments after a training session at their King\u2019s Park home in Bweyogerere.<\/p>\n

The Sea Robbers\u2019 leadership led by vice chairman Samuel Ocanya, treasurer Peter Laboke, Director of rugby Robert Musinguzi, club captain Dennis Etuket and age grade and rugby development officer Byron Okuba delivered the goods to players as they bid for more silverware.<\/p>\n

Fans chip in<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have worked together with the fans to mobilise resources for our players.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome are students while others are hustling by themselves so we thought it wise to support them with items like maize flour, rice and soap and other basic home needs. It will go a long way in giving them comfort,\u201d said Ocanya. Up to 95 players from the senior team and Sailors left King\u2019s Park wearing smiles.<\/p>\n

Ocanya also confirmed that Black Pearl, Pirates\u2019 sister club, is to get their share soon.<\/p>\n

Black Pearls are the National Sevens Series holders while Pirates went toe to toe with Betway Kobs for the last title, only to finish second in the series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
