Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>An inquest is underway into the mysterious death of a 38-year-old woman in her house in Buwenge Town Council, Jinja District.<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased was returning from an outing with an unidentified boyfriend who is being sought by police.<\/p>\n

The Kiira Region Police Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi, identified the deceased as Ms Shakira Babirye.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe deceased\u2019s particulars, including her mobile phone, were found at a Guest House where the pair is said to have last been spotted before separating; while the particulars of her alleged male companion were missing,\u201d Mr Mubi said.<\/p>\n

He added that after the duo separated, the woman went to her home where she was later found dead on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Police detectives have started pursuing leads, including interrogating the deceased\u2019s sister, who said the deceased returned from the said outing at around midnight on Friday when she was \u201cvery drunk\u201d and \u201cslept normally\u201d.<\/p>\n

The body of the deceased, a born of Nawanyago Sub-county in Kamuli District, was taken to Buwenge Health Centre IV for an autopsy while investigations continue.<\/p>\n
